A child given injection by a rickshaw puller in a District Hospital in UP: NHRC issues notices to DM, SP and CMO, Balia.

The National Human Rights Commission has taken suo-motu cognizance of media reports that a 08 month old baby, admitted to a District Hospital, Balia, Uttar Pradesh, died when a rickshaw puller allegedly administered him an injection on the directions of the doctor present on duty.
The Commission has observed that the contents of the press report, if true, raise a serious issue of violation of right to health of the child and issued notices to the District Magistrate, Chief Medical Officer and Superintendent of Police, Balia, Uttar Pradesh, calling for reports within two weeks.
