All India Student Parliament on Health
Chairperson, Dr. Justice A.S. Anand attended the All India Student Parliament on Health, which was conducted in New Delhi on 22 & 23 November 2003. Organized by the voluntary group HRIDAY-SHAN this innovative exercise served to use school students from 10 cities as agents of desirable social change. The children were trained in parliamentary procedure and a parliamentary format used to discuss issues related to the present and future health policies for the nation, from the perspective of their generation. The student parliament adopted five resolutions in the areas of physical activity, road safety, tobacco control, diet and nutrition and dedicated tobacco tax for health promotion.
At the end of the two-day programme, Dr. Justice A.S. Anand who was the Chief Guest at the valedictory function gave some words of advice to the next generation.
