Media carried report on the 3rd May, 2010 alleging that one jawan of Rajasthan Rifles, named Kuldeep Singh was killed by the Uttar Pradesh Police in a fake encounter in Bulandshehar District on the 1st May, 2010. He was reportedly on leave for two months. He had left his house at Bharari village in Aligarh District on the morning of the 13th April, 2010 to purchase some goods, but he did not return home and later was reported killed in an encounter by police. Taking suo motu cognizance of the media report, the Commission registered a case, but subsequently it was found that a case in the same matter was already registered on the intimation from the SSP, Bulandshehar. The Commission, therefore, decided to link the suo motu cognizance taken by it with the Case No. 15338/24/18/2010-ED, already under the process.
