Assault of an 8-year-old boy by a Delhi Police Officer
The Commission has asked the Commissioner of Police, Delhi to look into the allegations reported in a national daily dated 28th April 2004 of an eight year old boy Sahil, having been brutally beaten and abused by Onkar Nath Kaul, who is reported to be a Police Officer.
Taking suo-motu cognizance based on the media report, Chairperson of the Commission, Dr. Justice A.S. Anand observed that if the contents of the newspaper report are true, it raises issue of violation of human rights. A copy of the news item has been sent to the Commissioner of Police, Delhi to submit his comments within three weeks.
