Award Scheme for creative writings on Human Rights in Hindi

The National Human Rights Commission has invited entries under the "Award Scheme for Creative Writings on Human Rights in Hindi" from Indian citizens in order to encourage such writing in respect of Human Rights themes. Under this scheme there is a provision for presenting awards to those who write original books/manuscripts in Hindi or to those who translate standard books on Human Rights, at present available in other Indian Languages or English, into Hindi.

There will be three awards each for writing original books in Hindi. The first prize carries a cash award of Rs. 25,000/-, the second and third, an amount of Rs.20,000/- and Rs.15,000/- respectively. The three awards for the translation of standard books on Human Rights from other Indian Languages or English into Hindi will be in the amounts of Rs.15,000/-, Rs.10,000/- and Rs.7,500/- respectively.

The books/manuscripts (original or translated) should contain at least 30,000 words. The last date for receipt of entries is 31 December 2000.
