Blended Learning Course on National Inquiries for NHRIs in South Asia

The Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights & Humanitarian Law and Asia Pacific Forum in collaboration with the NHRC, India organized the Blended Learning course on National Inquiries for National Human Rights Institutions in South Asia at Thiruvanantapuram, Kerala from the 14th-18th November, 2011. Officers from NHRIs of six countries including India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives attended this course. The NHRC-India's officers were Mr. Sunil Arora, Deputy Registrar (Law), Mr. C.S. Mawri, Assistant Registrar (Law), Ms. Shobha George, Under Secretary, Ms. Usha Nair, Principal Private Secretary, Mr. K.H.C. Rao, Dy SP and Mr. I.R. Kurillose, Inspector. They attended this programme after completion of a month-long online course.
A similar training programme was organized in Kathmandu, Nepal on Torture Prevention from the 19th-23rd September, 2011 by the Asia Pacific Forum in collaboration with the Association for Prevention of Torture, Geneva for the officers of the NHRIs of the same six countries. From the NHRC, India Mr. Khaleel Ahmed, Assistant Registrar (Law), Mr. Vinu Dev Sachin, Dy. SP, Mr. Mukesh, Section Officer and Ms. Mithu Deb, Section Officer participated.
