Boy sent away with a bullet in his head by a Delhi hospital : NHRC issues notices to concerned authorities

The National Human Rights Commission has issued notices to the Secretary Health, Govt. of NCT Delhi and Superintendent, Dr. Hedgewar Aarogya Sansthan Hospital, Delhi taking suo motu cognizance of a media report alleging that a minor boy was sent away by the doctors in the hospital after first aid without taking out a bullet lodged in his head. The Commission has given four weeks time to them for response.
Reportedly, the boy, Nakul Bhargava, after the first aid at Dr. Hedgewar Hospital had to spend an agonizing night in pain before his parents took him to a private hospital the next day where he was operated upon and the bullet was successfully removed.
The Commission while issuing notices has observed that the contents of the press report, if true, raise a serious issue of violation of right to health of the child.
