Camp Sittings and Open Hearings
The NHRC will hold its Camp Sittings in Imphal, Manipur from the 23rd to 25th October, 2013 and in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh from the 2nd to 4th December, 2013.
The Commission will also hold two Open Hearings on complaints of atrocities against Scheduled Castes in Uttar Pradesh. These will be in Meerut from the 11th to 12th November, 2013 and in Varanasi from the 25th to 26th November, 2013. The aim of the Open Hearings is to hear the complainants in the presence of senior officers of the State so that the Commission may give recommen-dations for an early redressal of their grievances. After the hearings, the Commission will have separate meetings with local NGOs, and with the officers of the State Government.
