CHILDRENS' PAINTING COMPETITION

The National Human Rights Commission in association with the National Bal Bhawan organized children's painting competition on the 5th December, 2009 in New Delhi. Total 320 children participated in the event. They were divided in two age groups of 09-13 years and 13-16 years. There was another category of differently abled children. All the three categories of child painters were given different themes to make their paintings. These were Right to children, Right to elderly persons and Right to disabled persons, respectively. Each category had four prizes including 1st, 2nd, 3rd and consolation prize.
NHRC Member, Mr. P.C. Sharma, while presenting the honours to the winners, appreciated the efforts of all the child painters and hoped that they would continue to pursue their interest irrespective of the results in a competition. He found the concepts and choice of colours in the paintings very expressive and impressive.
