Commission approves Awareness Programmes
The Commission has approved a list of 28 backward districts in the country where Human Rights Awareness programme would be taken up.
The first Human Rights Monitoring and Awareness programme is scheduled to be held from July 3 to July 5, 2008 at Chamba Disrict in Himachal Pradesh. The Programme will be inaugurated by NHRC, Chairperson, Justice Shri S. Rajendra Babu. The programme will focus on the role of institutions/departments with respect to Right to Food, Right to Education, Right to Health and Hygiene, Right to Custodial Justice, Rights of SC&STs, Right to Culture and Right to Life. A number of State Government Officials will take part in the awareness programme.
