The Commission bade farewell to Dr. Justice Shivaraj V. Patil on February 4, 2008. Speaking on the occasion NHRC Chairperson Justice Shri S. Rajendra Babu said that as a Member of the Commission Dr. Justice Shivaraj V. Patil had made valuable contribution in monitoring the issues related to Rights of Women, Right to Health, Right to Food, environment protection, reproductive, family planning and demographic issues. In his address Dr. Justice Shivaraj V. Patil assured that he would always be available for human rights related issues. He thanked all the officials of the Commission who helped him discharge his duties during his tenure. Member Shri R. S. Kalha, Joint Secretary Smt. Aruna Sharma reminisced Dr. Justice Patil's days in NHRC.
