Compensation to the victim of sexual abuse
The Commission recommended to the State of Haryana to pay One Lakh rupees by way of interim relief to the victim who was sexually abused by Samay Singh, Head Master of the Govt. Middle School (Co-education), Anandpur, Distt. Rewari on 11.02.2007.
The complaint related to sexual abuse of a girl student of Class VIII by headmaster of a Government Middle School in Rewari district of Haryana. The complainant had also alleged that the case was not registered under appropriate section of law and therefore, no action against the culprits was taken by the police. The Commission considered the above complaint on 23.02.2007. The Investigation Division of NHRC as per the directions of the Commission conducted on the spot inquiry and submitted a report.
On the directions of the Commission, the SP, Rewari informed that charge sheet against Samay Singh was submitted in the Court u/s 354/506 IPC on 19.03.2007 in case FIR No. 23/04 P.S. Bawal. The Commission also received compliance report on its rec-ommendations along with proof of payment.
