Ram Nath Chauhan and Jawahar Singh Gour became victims of excessive use of fire arms against protesters by police in Mailu area under Kheroni police station in Karbi Anglong District of Assam on the 16th August, 2008. On the recommendations of the Commission, the Government of Assam submitted compliance report on the 18th August, 2010 that it has paid rupees 5 lakhs each to the next of kin of the deceased.
