The Commission has constituted a Core Group on 'Right to Food' on 13 August 2004 and Shri K.R. Venugopal, Special Rapporteur, NHRC, Dr. Amita Rangasami, Dr. N.C. Saxena, Prof. N Dreze, Prof. Ravi Srivastava and Dr. A.K. Shiva Kumar as its members with Ms. Sudha Shrotria, Director (Research), NHRC as its Convenor. The Core Group will advise the Commission on issues relating to Right to Food in the context of India.
