A delegation of Myanmar National Human Rights Commission led by its Chairman, Mr. Win Mra came on a three day visit to India from the 22nd-24th May, 2012 to interact with its Indian counterpart and understand its structure, jurisdiction, functioning and complaint management system. The NHRC Chairperson, Members and senior officers interacted with the visiting delegates. Mr. Win Mra said that Myanmar NHRC has been set up recently and is trying to learn from the best practices of other NHRIs like India. NHRC asked its Myanmar counterpart to look into the issue of refugees from their country to India and take up the matter with their government.
Mr. Win Mra said that he would take up the matter with his government for consideration of action on the issue.
