The National Human Rights Commission has set up `Madad’, an information and facilitation counter to help complainants obtain information regarding NHRC or the status of their complaints in the Commission.

Most people experience great difficult in entering any Government building unless they have passes. Those who approach the NHRC are, more often than not, poor and illiterate. This being the case, entry into the office of NHRC located in Sardar Patel Bhavan must, in all probability, have posed a problem for them.

The NHRC has, therefore, set-up ‘Madad’ -- an information and facilitation counter, to approach the window of which the applicant does not need to enter the building. If an applicant wishes to have a detailed discussion, then those present at the counter pass on a message to the Reception so that such a person can enter the building without any difficulty and have such a discussion

The counter is equipped with a computer, and information booklets, and it is possible to give immediate information regarding the position of any case.
