The Commission had received a complaint from the widow of a Mr. Jagat Ram that her husband was killed when he touched a live electric wire hanging from an electric pole poorly maintained by the Madhyanchal Power Distribution Corporation of Uttar Pradesh. After examining her complaint and the response from the Corporation, the Commission recommended that the Corporation give her Rs. 50,000 rupees as monetary relief.
