The first meeting of NHRC's Advisory Group on Media and Human Rights was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, Chairperson, NHRC on the 1st November, 2011. Several important issues were discussed to improve coverage of human rights in media for building awareness in masses. The meeting was attended by all the NHRC Members, senior officers and eight members of the Advisory Group, comprising senior journalists representing national level print and electronic media organizations.
