A one-day programme on Human Rights Awareness for Panchayati Raj Officials was organized by Bharatiya Nagarik Kalyan and Apradh Nirodhak Samity, Hathrus, U.P. on October 14, 2006. At least 153 participants from various sections of the society including Heads of Gram Panchayats, Retired Army officers, educationists, poets, doctors, advocates, students, women social workers and journalists and NGOs from four Tehsils i.e. Hathrus, Sashani, Sikandrabad and Sadabad participated. The programme was inaugurated by Shri B.D. Naqvi, Additional District Judge of Hathrus. Prof. S.M. Hasan, Dean, Law Faculty, Aligarh Muslim University was the Chief Guest. Dr. S.K.Jain, Senior Research Officer (Training) and Mr. Nishith, Assistant (Research Division) of NHRC were the two Resource Persons.
