In-House training programme for Class-IV staff
In-house training for Class-IV staff (D category) was organized by the Training Division of the NHRC on 26 and 27th June 2006. At least 58 class-IV regular employees of the Commission and 22 persons (House keeping staff, Daily Wages employees, water person and Guards) were imparted training during the programme, on a number of aspects including Human Rights Issues, duties and responsibilities, punctuality in the office and cleanliness and hygiene. In the inaugural session of the Training Shri Chaman Lal, Special Rapporteur volunteered and shared his experiences with the trainee staff. Three other sessions taken by Shri O.P. Vyas, Dy. SP on Human Rights Issues, Smt. Sangeeta Banerjee, US, General Administration on Duties and Responsibilities of class-IV employee and Shri P.M.V. Siromony, Chief Coordinator (Training) interacted on the issues related to their behaviour.
Joint Secretary (Officiating SG), DIG and Prof. B.B. Pande, Consultant (Research) also interacted with them highlighting the importance of training and their role.
During training, class-IV staff was apprised of their duties and responsibilities and also motivated to wear the uniform. Feedback received from the staff indicated their keen interest in learning typing and computers, with the request to give eligible persons promotion opportunities.
