ITBP win the Zonal level Debate competition on Human Rights at Mussoorie

The teams from ITBP have been adjudged winners of the debate competition on Human Rights for the Para military forces for the Zone of Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal organized by the NHRC and ITBP at Mussoorie on 5 August 2004 in both the Hindi and English sections.
While the runner-up for English go to the team from CRPF and RPF's team was selected as runners up in the Hindi section. In all 22 participants from BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB, RPF and ITBP participated.
The Zonal level winners will now represent their respective zones in the final competition to be held in Nov. 2004, at Delhi
The holding of zonal level competitions is being done for the first time with an aim to ensure that maximum police personnel from all over the country are involved, educated, and sensitized. Earlier the NHRC had been regularly organizing Debate competition on Human Rights issues for para-Military Forces every year since 1996 but only at the national level.
Zonal level competitions have already been held at Pinjore for the North zone, at Mumbai for the Western region and at Manesar for the Delhi region. Zonal Competitions for the Northeast, Central, East and South are yet to be held.
