Meeting of the Advisory Council of Jurists (ACJ) on “Trafficking”

The problem of trafficking of women and children is a matter of growing global concern. At the sixth meeting of the APF in Sri Lanka, Members had agreed to formulate a reference to their Advisory Council of Jurists on the issue of “trafficking”. The ACJ was constituted by APF Member Countries to assist in developing regional human rights jurisprudence. Each APF Member has nominated an eminent Jurist to serve as a member of the Council. The Indian nominee in the ACJ is Shri Fali S. Nariman.

The meeting of the Advisory Council of Jurists of the APF on the issue of “Trafficking” will also be held concurrently with the APF meeting in New Delhi, 0n 11 – 12 November 2002.
