Member of European Parliament visits NHRC
Ms. Krisztina Moroval, Member of the European Parliament, visited the National Human Rights Commission on the 17th February, 2012. She was briefed about its functioning and its areas of interventions in human rights violations, in her meeting with the NHRC Chairperson, Members and senior officers of the Commission.
Expressing her keen interest in the functioning of the NHRC, Ms. Moroval said that the problem of farmers committing suicides has assumed alarming proportions in Europe also and it is a matter of grave concern. She said that the European Union recognizes inviolable and inalienable fundamental human rights and the respect and the protection of these rights is the primary obligation of the State.
