It has come to the notice of the Commission that some institutions / individuals are illegally using the NHRC logo, claiming association with NHRC and also using articles and excerpts from the Commission’s newsletter in their own publications. This is to inform all that the Commission does not register/associate/affiliate any institution or individual with it. The existence of the name of an institution in the Commission’s mailing list / NGO list does not in any way authorise it to act on behalf of or claim to act on behalf of the Commission. The Commission advises all concerned not to advertise the fact of the institution being on the Commission’s mailing list as the Commission has reason to believe that this is being done to mislead the public into believing that the said institution has in some special relation with the Commission. Any institution / individual using the NHRC Logo or writing `Having association with NHRC’ or words to the effect misleading the public by misusing the name of the Commission will render itself liable for suitable legal action by the Commission.
