It has been brought to the notice of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), New Delhi, that "Hindustan Manav Kalyan Association", an NGO reportedly based in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has claimed that it is 'enlisted' with the Commission and, is using the name of the Commission in its letterheads. This organization was earlier also known as "Human Rights Association of Hindustan'.
It is brought to the notice of all concerned, especially members of the general public, that the Commission has no association whatsoever with the above said organization. The misuse of the Commission's name in their letterheads and other unauthorized activities being carried out by this organization using the Commission's name, has been taken up with the concerned law enforcement agencies, for inquiry. Members of the general public are hereby advised to be cautious while dealing with the organization and, its claims of association, partnership, etc., with the Commission.
