The delegation was keen to know about women's representation in Indian Parliament and also whether there were child soldiers in India like in Myanmar. They were informed that a Bill for 33% reservation to women in Parliament is under consideration but in local bodies up to 50% seats were reserved for women and that the Government does not recruit children as soldiers. There are various welfare schemes for children, including the Right to Free and Compulsory Education up to 14 years.
