The National Human Rights Commission organised the 4th National Moot Court Competition in collaboration with the Law Centre - 1 of the University of Delhi from the 18th-20th March, 2016. Inaugurating the event at the Law Centre - 1 on the 18th March, 2016, Justice Shri Cyriac Joseph, Member, NHRC encouraged all the teams to participate with the conviction of winning the event. Addressing the valedictory function on the 20th March, 2016, Justice Shri D. Murugesan, Member, NHRC, higlighted the procedural aspects of litigation and the best practices of advocacy.
In all 48 teams, representing various institutions from different parts of the country, participated in the event. Broadly, the prepositions taken up by the participants centered on the issues of human rights involved in surrogacy. Senior NHRC officers, including, Shri J.S. Kochher, Joint Secretary (T&R) and Dr. S.K. Jain, Senior Research Officer (Trg.) were present.
