Shri Santosh Kumar, an officer from the 1967 batch of the Indian Police Service (Bihar cadre) assumed charge of the office of Director General (Investigation) in the Commission on 3 November 2003. Prior to joining the Commission, he held the post of Additional Director General of Police Cum Commandant General, Bihar Home Guards and Fire Services, Government of Bihar. He succeeds Shri Y.N. Srivastava, who retired on 30 September 2003 upon attaining the age of superannuation.
