Acting on a petition from Shri Uday Kant Thakur, the West Bengal Human Rights Commission has recommended grant of compensation of Rs.20,000/- to the petitioner whose minor son was falsely implicated by the State police in a rape case. The WBHRC has also recommended that appropriate proceedings be drawn against the errant policemen.
