An investigation team from NHRC visited the capitals high security, Tihar jail on June 14, 2007 to probe into a string of deaths of prisoners in a week. The team's visit took place after the Commission issued a notice to the jail administration on the death of six inmates and a jail warden in a week's time.
The Commission also sent an investigation team to Pataudi town of Gurgaon district in Haryana, where half burnt foetuses were recovered from a well near a nursing home.
