The National Human Rights Commission organized its camp sitting in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on the 11th November, 2011. In the camp sitting chaired by Mr. Justice B.C. Patel, Member, NHRC, 45 matters relating to the State were taken up. Four cases were closed after consideration of the reports by the concerned State authorities. In four other cases, the Commission directed the Registry to forward the reports received from the State authorities to the petitioners for comments.
In the remaining cases, including matters relating to bonded labour, the Commission granted extension of time on the request of the State authorities for the submission of complete reports.
