NHRC DIG (Investigation) awarded President's Police Medal

Mrs. Mamta Singh, DIG Investigation), NHRC has been awarded President's Police Medal for meritorious services on the eve of Republic Day. She is a 1996 batch IPS officer of Haryana cadre. She has been instrumental in several investigations carried out by the Investigation Division of the NHRC since joining it in November, 2005 as a Senior Superintendent of Police.
Mrs. Singh is particularly credited with her probes on human rights violations in Nandigram in West Bengal, Salwa Judum and Naxalsim in Chhattisgarh and most recently Operation Anaconda conducted by the CRPF in the Saranda Forest of Jharkhand. She has also been one of the members of the drafting committee on 'National Policy on Prison Reforms and Correctional Administration' constituted by the Union Home Ministry.
