NHRC issues notice to the Registrar of University of Kerala on alleged wrongful confinement of six girl Research Scholars

The National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the Registrar, University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, calling for a report in connection with a complaint alleging wrongful confinement of six girls in a room by the Head of the Sanskrit Department of the University. The girls are reported to be the Research Scholars in the Sanskrit Department of the University. The Commission has given four weeks time to the Registrar, University of Kerala for submitting his report in the matter. The next hearing of the case has been fixed on the 25th August, 2010.
