NHRC notice to the Haryana Government over reports of attack on an under construction Church (18.3.2015)

The National Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of a media report that an under construction Church in District Hissar, Haryana was attacked on the 15th March, 2015. Reportedly, police registered a case against 14 people but no arrests have been made so far.
The Commission has issued notices to the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, Haryana calling for reports within two weeks. They have also been directed to report what steps were being taken for the protection of religious places of minorities in the State.
