The National Human Rights Commission has constituted its "Advisory Group on the Media and Human Rights" comprising twelve senior media persons representing different major news organizations in the country. The Advisory Group has been set up as part of media and outreach policy of the Commission formed recently. The aim of the Advisory Group is to have regular interaction with media and to seek its enhanced and active role in promotion and protection of the human rights of the common man.
The Advisory Group will be chaired by Mr. Justice K. G. Balakrishnan, Chairperson, NHRC and in his absence by the senior most Member of the Commission, present. The members of the Advisory Group include:
