A month-long Summer Internship Programme of the NHRC began in its premises in New Delhi on the 2nd June, 2014. 50 students from 14 Universities of different States/UTs are attending it. They would be exposed to various human rights issues and laws, composition, role and functions of the Commission. The interns would be guided to write dissertations on various issues and aspects of human rights. Field visits to prisons and NGOs would also be organised to give them first-hand account of the functioning of such institutions.
