NHRC's two-day National Seminar on 'Education, Society and Human Rights' begins from 12th March at Tezpur University in Assam

The National Human Rights Commission is organizing a two-day National Seminar on 'Education, Society and Human Rights' from 12th -13th March, 2012 at the Tezpur Central University Campus in Assam in collaboration with the University. The Seminar is being organized for the first time in Assam as part of a series of National Seminars in Hindi in different parts of the country by NHRC. It is aimed at spreading awareness and generating debate on the importance of protection and promotion of human rights. This is the fifth in the series of National Seminars organized by the Commission during the current financial year so far.
The Seminar will be inaugurated by Mr. Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, Chairperson, National Human Rights Commission at 5.30 PM on the 12th March, 2012 at Kalaguru Bishnuprashad Rabha Auditorium, Tezpur Central University, Assam.
Several prominent speakers including, among others, the Assam State Human Rights Commission, Chairperson, Dr. Justice Aftab Hussain H. Saikia, Tezpur Central University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mihir Kanti Chaudhury, Litterateur and Academician, Prof. Indra Nath Chaudhury, Social Activist, Dr. Ranjana Kumari, noted Litterateur, Shri Ramchandra Khan will be addressing the Seminar on different aspects of the human rights.
