NHRC seeks Photographs on Human Rights Issues - Clarification

The National Human Rights Commission has been bringing out a number of publications, posters, advertisements and an annual desk calendar, which require photographs sensitive to the issues of Human Rights. For this, the NHRC would like contributions in the form of photographs from both Amateur and Professional Photographers. Selected photographs will be paid a sum of Rs.5,000/- as a token of appreciation. In addition, whenever the selected photo is used, the photographer's name would be acknowledged.

The themes on which photos are required by the NHRC are -

i) Rights of Mentally Ill
ii) Right to Health
iii) Rights of the Elderly
iv) Rights of persons with HIV/AIDS
v) Rights to Food and Drinking Water
vi) Rights of the Disabled
vii) Trafficking in Women and Children
viii) Bonded Labour

Works of original nature, both Monochrome and Colour not less than 20x25 cms (8" x 10") size are solicited. The photo should not be mounted. Digital prints may also be accepted.

Interested photographers may send their entries by 15 October 2005 by post or by hand.

The entries should be properly packed and marked as "Photo on Human Rights" to be addressed to the I&PRO, National Human Rights Commission, Faridkot House, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi - 110 1001.
