New Delhi, July 23rd, 2010

The National Human Rights Commission has forwarded a complaint to the Home Secretary, Government of India wherein attention has been drawn to recent developments in Jammu & Kashmir in which several individuals, including children, were allegedly killed by the CRPF. The Commission received the complaint from Ms. Sushobha Barve of the Centre for Dialogue & Reconciliation on the 21st July, 2010. After considering it, the Commission on the 22nd July, 2010, requested the Home Secretary, Government of India to send his reply by the 19th August, 2010 in response to this complaint.
