NHRC sets up Facilitation Counter
The National Human Rights Commission has set up a Facilitation Counter “Madad” in the Ground Floor of Sardar Patel Bhavan, New Delhi to increase its accessibility and make information Readly available to the complainants of human rights violations. The Counter will function under the overall supervision of a senior officer of the Commission.
The NHRC had felt it necessary to address to the need of the public who approach the Commission for redressal of their human rights violations. Since the cases go through different stages in the Commission and it is not always possible to keep the complainants posted of the developments promptly, the Commission has computerized its complaint redressal mechanism wherein information about each case is available in the computer and can be accessed at the Facilitation Counter for the purpose of information to the complainants. The Counter also provides information regarding how a complaint needs to be filed into the Commission and other details in this matter.
The Counter started functioning from the 2nd of October 2001.
