New Delhi, 12th March, 2013
The National Human Rights Commission has taken cognizance of the death of Delhi gang rape main accused Ram Singh in Tihar Jail. The Commission has asked its Director General (Investigation) to collect facts and requisite reports within eight weeks.

The Commission received an intimation about his death from the Superintendent, Central Jail No. 3, Tihar, New Delhi. In his communication it is written that undertrial prisoner Ram Singh S/o Mange Ram was found hanging and was declared dead by the Medical Officer, Central Jail Hospital, Tihar at 5:45 AM on 11th March, 2013.
