NHRC to hold its open hearing on the complaints regarding atrocities on SCs in Maharashtra

The National Human Rights Commission is organizing an open hearing on the complaints regarding atrocities on Scheduled Castes in the State of Maharashtra on the 18th -19th December, 2012 at Nagpur. Complaints of atrocities committed by a public servant or of a negligence by a public servant in prevention of atrocity against Scheduled Castes may be sent to the Commission by Registered Post of by Speed Post at the following address:

New Delhi - 110001.
The complaints should reach the Commission latest by 12th November, 2012.
Such complaints as are deemed fit for enquiry shall be taken up at the public hearing. The complaints shall be informed in due course about the date, time and venue of public hearing.
After hearing the complaints, the Commission would also hold meeting with the representatives of NGOs on the 20th December, 2012. It will discuss the issues raised in the complaints on atrocities against SCs with the State Chief Secretary, DGP and other senior civil and police officers on the 21st December, 2012. On the same day, a media briefing will be organized on the outcome of the open hearing.
