The NHRC Member, Justice Shri B.C. Patel, Member and Registrar (Law), Shri A.K. Garg addressed a workshop on "Elimination of Bonded and Child Labour" organized by the Commission to sensitize officers of the State Government of Madhya Pradesh at Indore on 15th February, 2013.

Justice Patel emphasized that officers should adhere to statutory provisions of Bonded Labour Act and work towards identification, release and rehabilitation. They were given a deep input into provisions of Bonded Labour Act and NHRC guidelines in this regard. The workshop was attended by Principal Secretary (Labour) and other officers of Government of Madhya Pradesh. Representatives of NGOs and some trade unions were also present.
