Media carried reports on the 27th November, 2009 that Lucky Bhola, aged 12 years, a student of the Government Senior Bal Vidyalaya, A Block, Jahangirpuri in Delhi was severely beaten up by his teacher Brahma Prakash, because he went out of the class to drink water without taking his permission. Later a fracture was diagnosed in his hand. Taking suo motu cognizance of the media reports, the Commission issued a notice to the Directorate of Education, NCT Delhi calling for a report in the matter.
