The NHRC issued notices to the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, Maharashtra, calling for a factual report within two weeks into the alleged violations of human rights of Sadhvi Pragyan Chandrapal Singh Thakur in police custody. The notice has been issued on a complaint presented by a delegation led by Mr. Bulbir Punj and Mr. K.P.S. Gill to the Commission. The complainants also alleged that Lt. Col. S.P. Purohit and others were also harassed and tortured
