On the death of another undertrial prisoner, Chini, in the District Jail, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh on the 19th September, 2001, the Commission found that he was not provided appropriate medical care by the jail authorities and recommended that the U.P. government pay one lakh rupees as monetary relief to his next of kin.
