Mr. Ted Osius, Minister Counselor for Political Affaris, Embassy of the United States of America called on the Chairperson on January 15, 2008. After a meeting with the Chairperson, he also wrote a letter to Chairperson where he expressed to follow on their good discussion and sought comments regarding the Commission's efforts to further the cause of human rights. He further added, "Many US Government officials, senior members of Congress and several non-governmental organizations based in the United States keenly follow and admire India's efforts to promote human rights and social justice."
