Nearly 37 children with locomotor disabilities were given an opportunity to creatively express their dreams and aspirations on canvas through a painting workshop organized jointly by NHRC and British Council from 1 - 3 September 2004.
British artist Mr. John Edward conducted the workshop for the children from the age group 9 to 14 at the British Council in Delhi.
The children received an orientation into child rights themes and were encouraged to translate a vision (seen from a perspective of rights) of their future in colour. A panel of judges will assess the paintings produced by the children during the workshop and winners will receive their awards on 10 December, Human Rights Day. Besides this, each participant at the workshop was given a certificate of attendance.
