Dominik Bartsch, Chief of Mission, Office of the UN High Commission for Refugees, called on Justice Shri K. G. Balakrishnan, Chairperson, NHRC in New Delhi on the 16th August, 2013. NHRC Member, Justice Shri Cyriac Joseph and Joint Secretary, Shri J. S. Kochher were also present in the meeting. They discussed the existing international conventions and legal framework to safeguard refugee rights and explored the possibilities of cooperation between the two organisations. The Chief of Mission was briefed about the various initiatives taken by NHRC for the rights of refugees.
