A couple of years back, a few instances had come to the notice of the Commission wherein certain NGOs had used the contents of the Commission's Newsletter without express authorization by it to mislead the general public. It was then decided by the Commission not to permit reproduction of any articles of the Commission's Newsletter without prior permission. Accordingly, the Commission's Newsletters have been carrying a message to this effect. This policy has now been reviewed. Keeping in view the need to spread human rights awareness, it is proposed to permit all non-governmental organizations and other agencies to reproduce any part of the newsletter while acknowledging the source.
